Abraham moved to a new land because God told him to move. He packed up all his things and went to the new land that God showed him. Abraham brought along his wife, Sarah, his nephew, Lot, and their helpers. Abraham and Lot's helpers fought over many things. Abraham wanted the fighting to end. He told Lot to move to a new land. Lot picked the best looking land because it had more water, food and grass. Abraham moved to Hebron. God made a promise to Abraham. God told him that he would have many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. God made a promise that all the land he saw would be his.
